The first sale

A few days ago, I had my first-ever sale. It was very exciting. To know that someone bought something I made is very thrilling. It lets me know that not only is my stuff sellable, but I can actually make some serious coin on it if I play my cards right. And by “playing my cards right”, I mean marketing.

Marketing is the hardest part of anything, as I’ve experienced from my own entertainment site, Moniqueblog. But I’ve gotten that site where it basically attracts people to it, so I’m sure with hard work, I can get Monique Jones Design to that same level of success.

The same goes for my other new website chronicling the progress of my original idea, “Polite Society”. It’s hard to market a site, let alone three, but I think I can do it. Anything’s possible!

 

Learn fun makeup and nail tips from Klaire de Lys

Somehow in my search for stuff on Youtube, I came across “Klaire de Lys“, a young British girl who has a ton of video tutorials on makeup and nail art. I’m not one who generally wears makeup, but even I felt like getting some products and trying out the different styles Klaire had on display. Her video sensibility is engaging, calming and no-nonsense, which is refreshing after watching many hair and makeup videos where the person has to explain their whole day to you before they get on with teaching you the bit you want to know. I say give her a shot. Here’s one of her videos so you can see what she’s about. You’ll be hooked!
